CALL FOR TRAINEE BONE MARROW FAILURE ABSTRACTS
The NAPAAC consortium recognizes that these unique times have had a particularly hard impact on trainees in the field of Pediatric Bone Marrow Failure. With less opportunity to present research and travel restrictions limiting opportunities to network amongst leaders in the field, we aim to highlight trainee research during the 2020 NAPAAC Virtual Symposium.
The Symposium will explore cutting edge science and state of the art clinical practice in the field.
Friday October 9th
Session I Genetics & Molecular Diagnosis of Aplastic Anemia
Session II Protein Metabolism in Bone Marrow Failure
Saturday October 10th
Session III Clinical Strategies for Long Term Care
We invite trainees (Fellow and Resident MD, PhD and student trainees) to submit abstracts to the NAPAAC Symposium Committee. Each abstract should not exceed one page (≤ 500 words; Times New Roman or Arial, font size: 11 points, including illustrations and/or tables) and should be submitted as a Microsoft Word or PDF file. Abstracts should focus on original unpublished research relating to the field of pediatric bone marrow failure and aplastic anemia within Clinical and Basic/Translational categories. (Dual submission of abstracts to both the annual ASH conference and NAPAAC virtual symposium is allowed). Abstract submission will be consistent with the corresponding author’s agreement to virtually attend the 2020 NAPAAC Virtual Symposium and present the submitted work.
All abstracts need to be submitted to Timothy Colby (timothy.colby@childrens.harvard.edu) before midnight EST August 17th, 2020.
Abstracts will be scored by the organizing committee members based on, scientific rigor, perceived scientific impact and interest to the NAPAAC community. Presenters will be notified on or before August 21th, 2020.
Oral Presentations: The 6 highest-scoring abstracts will be selected for oral presentations in ASH conference format (10 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A) for Clinical (3 abstracts) and Basic/Translational (3 abstracts) sessions of the NAPAAC Research Symposium.
